DC Women in Politics Endorses Renee Bowser
for Ward 4 Special Election
Statement from Renee Bowser, candidate for the Ward 4 special election, on DC Women in Politics’ endorsement of her after she secured more than twice the votes of each of the other candidates at Sunday’s straw poll:
“It’s an honor to have the support of DC Women in Politics for the Ward 4 DC Council special election. The organization’s determined efforts to elevate issues that matter to women and to increase the number of women in elected positions are helping move Ward 4 and the entire District towards a brighter future—one where we all have an equal chance.”
“As a longtime advocate for workers rights, including fair pay for women and minorities, and a fifth-term ANC commissioner, I know how to promote policies and advance legislation that expand fair practices and even the playing field. If elected Ward 4’s Councilmember, I promise to be committed to the betterment of our communities and to ensuring all District residents, no matter their gender, race or sexual orientation, have the opportunity to succeed.”
Renee Bowser is running for DC Ward 4 Council-member to help improve quality of life for all of us.
Renee has lived in Ward 4 since 1989, and has served 4 terms as an ANC Commissioner, was past chair, and is currently vice chair, so she knows first hand the issues that effect our district.
As a former adjunct law professor, attorney, and Assistant General Counsel for the UFCW International Union, standing up for whats right and empowering people through education and opportunity are important values to Renee.
